Before sending your parcel, perform a few simple checks to make sure it is securely packed and ready for delivery. Check that the parcel is fully sealed, the contents do not move or rattle, and the Air Waybill (AWB) is clear and protected. You can also perform a simple drop test and water resistance check to identify any weaknesses in your packaging before handing the parcel to the courier.
Assess overall packaging
Start by checking the overall condition of your parcel. Make sure:
- The parcel is properly packed and fully sealed from edge to edge.
- The packaging is firm and does not open or come apart when handled.
- The item inside does not move or rattle when the parcel is gently picked up.
- There is sufficient cushioning around fragile items to prevent them from moving inside the box.
- There are no exposed gaps or areas where the contents can be damaged.
You can also perform a simple water resistance check by lightly spraying water on the outside of the parcel. Check whether the packaging allows water to reach the contents.
If the parcel is not sufficiently protected, add suitable cushioning or improve the outer packaging before sending it.
Check your Air Waybill
Make sure your Air Waybill (AWB) is clearly visible and easy for the courier to read and scan. Before handing over your parcel, check that:
- The AWB is securely attached to the parcel.
- The information and barcode are clear and readable.
- The AWB is not covered by tape or other materials that could affect scanning.
- The AWB is protected from rain and moisture.
If you are using a paper AWB, place it inside a transparent pouch to help prevent it from tearing or getting damaged during delivery.

Perform drop testing
A simple drop test can help you check whether your parcel has sufficient protection against impact during handling and transportation. Before sending the parcel:
- Make sure the parcel is fully sealed.
- Check that the contents are properly cushioned and cannot move freely inside.
- Carefully perform a simple drop test on the packaged parcel.
- Check the parcel and its contents afterwards for signs of damage or insufficient protection.
If the packaging becomes damaged, opens, or the contents move significantly during the test, add more cushioning or improve the packaging before shipping.
For fragile or valuable items, consider using additional protection such as bubble wrap, inflatable wrap, corner protection, block protection, or double packaging.
